Aaron Kaun, Youth Pastor

Aaron holds a Master of Arts of Theology from Talbot School of Theology, and has extensive ministry experience as a Young Adult/High School Pastor, a Volunteer Staff Member for College and Young Adult Ministries, and an Extended Care Supervisor for a Christian School.

Each of these positions has challenged and grown Aaron in the areas of leadership, teaching, counseling, developing small group curriculum, preaching, planning and organizing retreats, arranging and leading missions trips, leading outreach events for several hundred students, and much more.

Aaron grew up in a Christian home in Southern California and came to know Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at a young age. His call to serve in full-time ministry came as he was finishing up his senior year of undergraduate school, and his life has shown the fruit of that call ever since. He and Holly were married in 2007 and their son Jayden was born in January of 2010.

Aaron joined the staff at CCC in September 2011.

mindiMindi Furby, Pastoral Assistant

Mindi Furby was born and raised a California girl, brought up by parents who know and love Christ personally and exemplified their relationship with Him at home. She has been actively involved in the local church her whole life—serving and being involved in ministries like AWANA, praise band, Bible studies, missions trips, and more. Early in 2006, she made the move from California to Lynchburg, VA, where she earned a degree in Biblical Studies from Liberty University and a Master of Arts in Religion from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. The rest of her family followed shortly thereafter, moving to Pinehurst, NC, in August of 2009.

She and her family found CCC a few short months after settling in Pinehurst, and Mindi found her husband, Sean, quickly after that! Sean and Mindi have recently married, and greatly enjoy living out God's gift of marriage surrounded by both their families and dear friends.

Mindi's passion in ministry is two-fold: discipleship and church unity. She loves watching and encouraging people grow in their relationships with Christ, and her passion for people fuels her enthusiasm for unity among the body of Christ. She and Sean eagerly anticipate watching God continue to work in and through their marriage and ministries together at CCC.

Their adult children live in various parts of the United States. She has been at CCC since 2005 and became the Children’s Ministry Coordinator in 2007. Fred StaffFred Berkheimer, Director of Adult Ministries

Fred began his career with an engineering degree from Carnegie-Mellon University, which is located in his home state of Pennsylvania.  After spending 34 years in the marketplace specializing in supply chain strategies, team-building, and leadership development, he sensed God’s call to leave the business world and focus on ministry opportunities that would enable him to use both his life skills and spiritual gifts.  Fred’s passion and personal mission is to provide leadership and share truth that motivates believers to live more fully devoted lives for Christ.

Having lived in several states in the Northeast and Midwest, Fred and his wife Kathy decided to call Pinehurst ‘home’.   Here, during the 1990’s, their children completed their education, and the family developed many close friendships.  They were delighted to reunite with Christ Community Church in 2009.

Fred is a model railroad fan and is working on a design and layout to showcase his extensive American Flyer collection.   Much of his, and Kathy’s, free time is spent vacationing and visiting with their married children and 4 grandchildren.
