The Word
A big part of growing in Christ is consistently reading His word. In addition to our educational course curriculum, we hope to provide help in this area with our Discipleship Journal program, which began in January 2010. There are four levels of involvement available: The Children's Journal, The Youth Journal, The First Steps Journal and the Life Journal. The Life Journal is designed to take you through the entire Bible in a year. The other three journals take a number of excerpts daily from the Life Journal readings, so everyone is reading the same topics on any given day. This can aid in specific discussions between friends, or as the family is gathered around the dinner table! You can see and select the journal that best fits you by contacting the church office. We ask for a $5 donation to cover the cost of purchasing the journals. Attached below are a few resources to help you get familiar with your journal.
Prayer
Prayer is one of CCC’s five core values and focuses us on our humble dependence on God. We are devoted to a life of prayer because it aligns us with God’s will and unleashes the Spirit’s work in and through us. We believe God will do great things through our church body when we pray, and we encourage everyone at CCC to communicate with God through prayer. Prayer should punctuate our conversations and fuel our lives and ministry.
Prayer is a learned spiritual practice. Even Jesus’ disciples said, “Lord, teach us to pray.” Prayer education is an ongoing discipline at CCC and small “snippets”, called “Prayer Bricks” are incorporated into nearly every meeting or gathering under CCC’s umbrella. The Prayer Bricks can be found under the Prayer Ministry page.
Fellowship
At CCC we view fellowship as the New Testament describes it: authentic community. As we spend time with one another in Bible studies, on ministry teams, or in life groups we are able to grow closer and form deeper relationships. But we've also built in time on Sundays to facilitate our growing together. Before, between, and after services, the comfortable accommodations in the foyer, the coffee bar, and our patio provide a setting to meet new friends or catch up with what's been going on in each other's lives. We do value relationships over programs and truly desire to "do life" together. Lives are interwoven as we laugh and cry with each other, bear each others' burdens and struggles, and celebrate each others' victories! There is always an open chair for you at CCC's table.
